More Music Coming to Blue Lake Public Radio in July

About

We felt cut off from one of life’s most inspirational assets; i.e. fine arts broadcasting. We soon learned that many other music lovers, musicians, and music teachers in the Muskegon area shared our frustration and hoped for good classical and jazz broadcasting in West Michigan.
Fritz Stansell - Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp: The Early Years, p. 172

Blue Lake Public Radio went on the air at 90.3 on the FM dial (WBLV) in the summer of 1982 with an official launch by Bob Hope who was performing at Stewart Shell. The frequency of 88.9 FM (WBLU) was acquired, to better serve the Grand Rapids metro area, in 1994.

Blue Lake Public Radio’s mission is to serve as west Michigan’s voice of the arts. The broadcast studios are located on the campus of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
