This weekend the Grand Rapids Symphony begins its new season, and Marcelo Lehninger begins his tenth year as Music Director, with concerts on September 25th and 26th! Pianist Simon Trpceski is featured in the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3, and the Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2 brings the concert to a close. Maestro Lehninger talked with Steve Albert about this concert, the new season, and his decade in Grand Rapids in a conversation you can listen to here.
Steve Albert
Steve came to Blue Lake as an announcer in 1985 and has worn many hats over the years. Currently the Operations Manager, Steve is responsible for the technical operations of Blue Lake Public Radio. His on-air work includes hosting “A Michigan Saturday Night” from 8:00-9:00pm, and classical music when called on. Steve oversees Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s summer recordings and broadcasts. In his private time, Steve loves all types of music, and plays banjo in a couple of local bluegrass groups.
