On Wednesday's Classical Music with Foley Schuler we will celebrate the life and legacy of Ralph Vaughan Williams—who died on August 26, 1958—with some of the great English composer's very last music, including his Symhony No. 9, premiered just a few months before his death. We'll also hear the slow movement from the Cello Concerto he was working on when he died and left unfinished—in a completion made by composer David Matthews. We'll also celebrate the birthday of saxophonist Brandford Marsalis, with some of the jazz master's marvelous forays into classical music over the years.
