Blue Lake Festival Chorus and Orchestra perform "Testament of Freedom"

Dr. Hankle talks about the August 1 concert at Bue Lake

Session III of our 60th Anniversary Seasson concludes with the Festival Orchestra and Chorus performing Testament of Freedom by Randall Thompson, a setting of excerpts from the letters of Thomas Jefferson. Dr. Steven Hankle conducts our Festival Chorus along with the Lifelong Arts Choir and Staff Choir and the Festival Orchestra. The concert also has Dr. Suren Petrosyan leading the orchestra in the Light Cavalry Overture by Suppe, and the Suite from Hiawatha by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Please join us Saturday evening at Blue Lake for this 7:30 concert, or hear it from the beginning on our radio stations beginning at 8:00.

Steve Albert

Steve came to Blue Lake as an announcer in 1985 and has worn many hats over the years. Currently the Operations Manager, Steve is responsible for the technical operations of Blue Lake Public Radio. His on-air work includes hosting “A Michigan Saturday Night” from 8:00-9:00pm, and classical music when called on. Steve oversees Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s summer recordings and broadcasts. In his private time, Steve loves all types of music, and plays banjo in a couple of local bluegrass groups.
