The 2026 Season - the 60th Anniversary Season of Blue Lake - features the Festival Band for our first concert broadcast. Dr. Matthew Westgate will lead the band in the Shostakovich Festive Overture, along with Copland's Lincoln Portrait, featuring narrator Marques Ruff. Steve came to Blue Lake as an announcer in 1985 and has worn many hats over the years. Currently the Operations Manager, Steve is responsible for the technical operations of Blue Lake Public Radio. His on-air work includes hosting “A Michigan Saturday Night” from 8:00-9:00pm, and classical music when called on. Steve oversees Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s summer recordings and broadcasts. In his private time, Steve loves all types of music, and plays banjo in a couple of local bluegrass groups.
