For several centuries England was famously derided as the "Land Without Music," for not having produced a major composer of international standing since the death of Henry Purcell in 1695. This all changed, however, with the emergence in the later 19th Century of Sir Edward Elgar, born on June 2, 1857. We'll celebrate Elgar's birthday on Tuesday afternoon's Classical Music with Foley Schuler with the composer's Enigma Variations, as well as several other gems from his pen. Please join us for that and much more...
You can hear Foley Schuler's musical selections—and stories behind the music—every weekday afternoon from 1 until 4 on Blue Lake Public Radio.
