The large extended family that is Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp dedicates this day of broadcasting to the life and memory of Buck Matthews, who passed away early Monday morning at the age of 97. Many people in West Michigan will remember Buck from his years on television, but he was a long-time fixture at Blue Lake, and played a large role in getting the station on the air (which happened in 1982). Buck served as Program Director then General Manager until his retirement, and returned for many years after to help with the membership drives.
Our thoughts are with Thelma and the kids and grandkids, and everyone who was touched by his warmth and joyful spirit.
