Detroit Symphony Live on Blue Lake

Detroit Symphony Orchestra

The October 31 broadcast from Orchestra Hall features Mozart and Brahms.

This program explores a line of development in Viennese musical style - from an overture from one of Mozart's most beloved comic operas, to the monumental First Piano Concerto by Johannes Brahms, to an early work by Arnold Schoenberg that is full of the lush harmonies of expressive Romanticism. Principal Guest Conductor Tabita Berglund leads the orchestra with piano soloist Kirill Gerstein.

"Detroit Symphony - Live" broadcasts begin at 10:40 a.m.

Klay came into radio as a volunteer folk music host on a small public radio station in Ft. Dodge (IA) in the late ’80s. He became Director of Broadcasting for Blue Lake in 2022. You will hear Klay filling in from time to time where needed.
