JANE, the acclaimed 2017 documentary on Jane Goodall, gives an in-depth and compelling look the legendary primatologist, ethologist, and anthropologis, based, in part, on hundreds of hours of never-before-seen color footage of Goodall working with Chimpanzees at what is now the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. Another essential component of this portrait is the breathtaking score by the great Philip Glass, which has since been performed in concert by a number of symphony orchestras, including a screening with live orchestra at a sold-out Hollywood Bowl on October 9,2 2017.
On Friday's Classical Music with Foley Schuler, we'll hear a generous selection of Glass' music from JANE—as well as a few other selections inspired by the animal world—and more...
You can hear Foley Schuler's musical selections—and stories behind the music—every weekday afternoon from 1 until 4 on Blue Lake Public Radio.
