Blues Man Hugh Pool at Blue Lake

Hugh Pool at Blue Lake Public Radio

We had Hugh Pool from New York into the Dave Myers Performance Center last week. West Michigan fans of the blues might know Hugh from his ongoing work in the duo Mule Bone. He was on a 8-venue tour of Michigan, including two U.P. stops! And he came to the station to play and talk with Steve Albert for "A Michigan Saturday Night." You can hear that episode at our on -demand page (www.bluelake.org/ondemand) and you can see a video of his visit here

Steve came to Blue Lake as an announcer in 1985 and has worn many hats over the years. Currently the Operations Manager, Steve is responsible for the technical operations of Blue Lake Public Radio. His on-air work includes hosting “A Michigan Saturday Night” from 8:00-9:00pm, and classical music when called on. Steve oversees Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s summer recordings and broadcasts. In his private time, Steve loves all types of music, and plays banjo in a couple of local bluegrass groups.
