The Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is well-known and often studied for its meaning and cultural significance. The story is rarely looked at from the viewpoint of the heroine. Opera Grand Rapids is changing that with their current production.
Jack Perlstein speaks with Executive Director Emilee Syrewicze. "Eurydice" with music by Matthew Aucoin and a libretto by playwrite Sarah Ruhl takes the stage this weekend. New York soprano Britt Hewitt is featured in the title role.
